Wales TUC Women's Committee
The duties of the Women’s Committee shall be:
- To make representation to and to meet with bodies at all levels on matters
pertaining to women in Wales.
- To perform a public relations function for the trade union movement in
Wales on matters pertaining to women in Wales.
- To convene and make arrangements for an Annual Women's Conference.
- To prepare an annual report of its activities for submission to the Annual
Conference of the Wales TUC.
- To keep the General Council informed of matters pertaining to women in
Wales and to give effect to any decisions of the General Council and Annual
Conference.
Wales TUC Race Equality Committee
The Wales TUC Race Equality Committee was set up in 2000 as a sub committee
of the Wales TUC General Council.
Its aim is to work through respect, dignity and co-operation to ensure inclusivity,
and to promote cultural diversity and equality of opportunity for all black
and ethnic minority trade unionists in Wales.
The duties of the Committee include:
- to keep the General Council informed on all matters concerning
racism and race discrimination in Wales,
- to advise the General Council on policies and actions necessary
to challenge and overcome workplace racism in Wales,
- to raise awareness within the trade union movement in Wales on
matters pertaining to workplace racism and to support the recruitment and
retention of black and ethnic minority workers into the trade union movement
in Wales,
- to convene a motion based Annual Race Equality Conference.
Wales TUC LGBT Committee
The duties of the LGBT Committee are to:
To make representation to and to meet with bodies at all levels on matters
pertaining to LGBT trade union members in Wales.
- To perform a public relations function for the trade union movement in
Wales on matters pertaining to LGBT trade union members in Wales.
- To convene and make arrangements for an Annual LGBT Conference.
- To prepare an annual report of its activities for submission to the Annual
Conference of the Wales TUC.
- To keep the General Council informed of matters pertaining to LGBT trade
union members in Wales and to give effect to any decisions of the General
Council and Annual Conference.
Wales TUC Pan Equality Committee
The Pan Equality Committee’s purpose is to:
- undertake policy development work on pan-equality or mainstreaming
matters in the interests of union members
- agree and implement a work programme on pan equality issues
- influence the forthcoming Commission for Equality and Human Rights
in Wales and the National Assembly for Wales’s equality policies
- facilitate the coordination and exchange of information between the
Wales TUC equality committees
undertake activities to encourage the increased involvement of underrepresented
groups, and the economically inactive, in the work of trade unions and the
Wales TUC.
