Lord Murray of Epping Forest, the former TUC General Secretary has died at the age of 82. He led the TUC through the turbulent years from 1973 to 1984.
TUC General Secretary Brendan Barber last night paid tribute: 'I feel a great sense of loss. Len was a distinguished TUC General Secretary during the difficult years of the 1970s and the social contract. He was well regarded, not just across the unions, but by all that came to respect his straight-dealing common sense.'
