Congress Awards

The President: Last year we changed the format for the presentation of our three prestigious awards, and this proved to be a popular innovation. The role of interviewer last year was played Ian McCartney. Ian, of course, played such a big part in steering through Parliament the legislation on both the minimum wage and union recognition, and he is a great advocate for trade unionism. Ian is now based in the Cabinet Office and within that role has continued to prove a worthy champion of working people's issues.
