Fringe meetings for Congress 2012

TUC Congress has a vibrant and packed fringe with a wide range of external organisations attending and hosting meetings to debate key issues to the trade union movement both in the UK and around the world. Organisations can choose to put on meetings and events around Brighton in the many hotels and venues in the area or to apply to host their meeting at the Brighton Centre.

Congress 2012 will run from Sunday 9 September to Wednesday 12 September, fringe meetings can be run from the Sunday evening. The options are an evening slot on the Sunday, a lunchtime slot or an evening slot on Monday and Tuesday or a lunchtime slot on the Wednesday.

There are limited opportunities for your organisation to host fringe meetings, receptions or other events within the Brighton Centre. If you are interested in securing space within the Brighton Centre the process is below:

1. Contact Gemma Tumelty gtumelty@tuc.org.uk indicating interest in holding a fringe meeting within the Brighton Centre by April 27. Please state how many people you might expect and what time you would prefer.
2. You will be informed whether you have been allocated space in the Brighton Centre by the end of May 31.
3. You will then book and pay for your room, catering and AV direct with the Brighton Centre.
4. The fringe listing must be with us by the July 27 to ensure that it goes into the guide.

If you apply to host a meeting at the Brighton centre and are unsuccessful or choose to host your event outside of the Brighton centre we will list your meeting in our fringe guide. Please send the information to Stephanie Pugsley spugsley@tuc.org.uk by July 27.
