embargo: For immediate release
Issuing a statement today (Friday) on the BA/Unite dispute, TUC General Secretary Brendan Barber said:
'I welcome the decision of Unite to consult its cabin crew members on the new offer that has now been made by the company as a result of the protracted negotiations under TUC auspices.
'If the offer proves acceptable to Unite's members then the TUC is committed to supporting the parties in overseeing its implementation. If the agreement is rejected then of course the TUC stands ready to assist in any way in resolving this difficult and complex dispute.'
