Young Members' Network
SERTUC Young Members seeks to promote the benefits of trade union membership and organisation to young workers and to urge trade unions to develop recruitment and organising strategies that better reflect young worker's concerns and interests.
SERTUC Young Members priorities for the year 2010/2011 are:
- Organising against the cuts
- Working with the NUS to improve access to employment advice for students
- Volunteering with Workers Beer Company at the summer festivals
The Network provides an opportunity for activists, reps and officers from the different unions to discuss issues and it provides expert advice to the SERTUC Executive Committee.
Meeting dates:
Saturday 13th August 2011 12 till 1.30pm
Sunday 9th October 2011 12 till 1.30pm
Saturday 10th December 12 till 1.20pm
Sunday 12th February 12 till 1.30pm
All meetings are held at Congress house, Great Russell Street, London WC1B 3LS
Young Trade Unionists in the SERTUC region are welcome to attend as guests.
