Home Front Recall

The TUC in partnership with the National Pensioners Convention (NPC) and the London Metropolitan University, have been involved in the 'Voices from the Home Front' project.

Funded by a grant from the Big Lottery Fund as part of their 'Home Front Recall' project, it aims to commemorate and record people's experiences of the Second World War in the workplace on this the 60th anniversary of the end of the war.

As part of the project, the London Metropolitan University are putting together a website entitled 'Workers' War: Home Front Recalled', a collection of images and personal accounts of what it was like to work during the war. http://www.unionhistory.info/workerswar/
