embargo: Immediate release
Commenting on the Stern review of the economics of climate change published today (Monday), TUC General Secretary Brendan Barber said:
'This review shows that immediate action against climate change could boost the economy. The Government urgently needs to use this opportunity to develop a green manufacturing strategy and plan to improve energy efficiency in the workplace. Tackling climate change by supporting the growth of low carbon and carbon free technologies - from renewable energy to low carbon vehicles - could also benefit British business and create jobs.'
