Schools Programme - Invite a Speaker

Trade unionists in the classroom can make a big impression on young people. They can use their extensive knowledge of real-life examples to bring employment issues alive and to help young people to understand and reflect on the role that trade unions play in the workplace. They can also help young people to understand about pay and collective-bargaining, employment law, health and safety issues and about the importance of equal opportunities. The TUC has regional panels of young trade union speakers who deliver talks to school children about rights at work and the role of trade unions. Trade unionists can use their experience to bring to life some of the issues that young people will be learning about within the curriculum around citizenship, work experience and work-related learning. To invite a speaker, complete the online form and someone will get in contact with you shortly.
