Wales TUC welcomes new General Secretary

Unite Wales regional officer Martin Mansfield is to be the next Wales TUC (WTUC) General Secretary, the TUC announces today (Thursday).

He previously worked as a research officer and Assistant General Secretary for the WTUC in the late 1990's. He has also worked for unions including the GMB and the Society of Radiographers, and for the Welsh Assembly.

Martin Mansfield said: 'I'm honoured and excited to be given the opportunity to lead the Wales TUC in a period where union membership is growing again, and we are truly the voice of Wales at work.'

He will be taking up the post in the autumn.
