TUC backs Zimbabwe Vigil

The TUC is supporting the lunchtime Vigil organised by Action for Southern Africa (ACTSA) outside the Embassy of Zimbabwe, 429, the Strand, London WC2, from 13.00 to 14.00 on 27 June 2011 to mark the anniversary of the 2008 presidential run-off election when the ZANU-PF ran a brutal campaign of violence in a bid to remain in power. There has been a resurgence of violence amidst speculation on elections being held within a year. The TUC joins the ACTSA in its call for an immediate end to violence and restoration of democracy, justice and the rule of law in Zimbabwe.

The ACTSA will be presenting hundreds of Stop the Violence Cards to the Zimbabwean Embassy.
