14 March 2011
Nobuaki KOGA
President - JTUC RENGO
Dear Brother Koga-san
On behalf of the TUC and all workers across Britain, please accept my deepest sympathies and support for the people of Japan, following the earthquake and tsunamis that have hit your country since 11 March 2011.
We here in Britain have felt incredible sorrow at the immense human cost of the worst disaster to face Japan in 65 years.
Our thoughts are with everyone who has lost family and friends, with workers across Japan, particularly those involved in emergency and rescue work, and with the entire nation as it recovers and rebuilds from this disaster.
Yours sincerely
BRENDAN BARBER
General Secretary
