Floods in Pakistan

The TUC wishes to express its deeply felt shock and sorrow at the loss of life and extensive damage to infrastructure and property caused by current floods in Pakistan.

Millions of people are in dire need of emergency assistance. Food, medicine and tents are in short supply. There is risk of outbreak of water-borne diseases in the affected areas and some cases of cholera have already been reported by aid agencies.

The TUC is supporting the DEC appeal and would like to invite union members and the general public to contribute generously to it.
