Register now for 'Going Global', a TUC Union Learn Online course

'fascinating and refreshingly radical'

This course is an engaging introduction to the central role working people play in international development. From export processing zones to ship breaking, it covers practical examples of the problems and opportunities facing workers across the globe. The course explains key issues such as international development and globalisation, poverty, trade justice and labour migration. From the United Nation's 'Millennium Development Goals' to the international trade union movement's promotion of 'Decent Work', this course explores the global issues behind these agendas. It also addresses how, through trade union workplace action, in communities and internationally, workers can secure fairness and justice at work instead of being forced to choose between exploitation and starvation.

'excellent help, support and encouragement'

  • explore the experience of working people in a global context
  • understand the role of trade unions in development
  • recognise different kinds of solidarity actions
  • help you work out what you can do to build interest and activism in your union

'this course has made me see the world differently and I now realise just how true the saying 'an injury to one is an injury to all' really is'

Begins 19 January and takes around 30 hours over eight weeks. Further information and to sign up for the course
