Solidarity with Iraqi and Kurdish women trade unionists

Report of a trade union women's visit to Britain in March 2006, by Abdullah Muhsin of the General Federation of Iraqi Workers. The visit was funded by the TUC, Unison and Amicus' Nick Burdon and Denis Blockley Trust. The delegation consisted of Nazanin T. Ali, Head of Women's Affairs at the Kurdistan Workers Syndicate, Member of the Service Workers Union; Hoda S Rafiq, Member of the Kurdistan Journalists' Union, who works for the Kurdistan Workers Syndicate newspaper; Hassana Abdulsatar, member of the Mechanics, Metal and Printing Workers Union and a member of her union's Women's Committee; and Violet Issa Qalaab, President of the Oil and Gas Workers Union Al Zubair Branch and member of the Iraqi Women's League.
