The core labour standards have been defined by the ILO as the basic working conditions which all workers are entitled to. Work should be free from discrimination; basic rights of collective bargaining should be respected; nobody should be forced to work; and no child should work.
Labour standards lie at the heart of tackling poverty and the TUC supports the ILO in its campaign to make labour standards universal.
