The right to work free from discrimination on the grounds of sex, race, disability, age or sexual orientation is a key labour standard. The TUC fights for equality in its work around international labour standards and in work on trade. We provide practical supprt for trade unionists who face persecution, whatever the reason, through TUC Aid. In particular, we are highlighting the discrimination faced by LGBT communities, and attempting to ensure a gender dimension to everything we do. Because the HIV/AIDS pandemic is worldwide and in particular victimises women, we campaign for workers living with HIV/AIDS to get a fair deal at work wherever they live. And we support migrant workers, many of whom face unfair working conditions because they are unable to enforce their rights
