USA

The TUC has strong and historic ties with the US trade union movement, the AFL-CIO , and the confederations exchange fraternal delegates at each other’s conferences. We have shared interests in organising, world trade and labour standards, and global solidarity (the AFL-CIO has a solidarity organisation – ACILS, or the Solidarity Center – with which the TUC works closely. AFL-CIO President Rich Trumka chairs the TUAC , and the AFL-CIO is a leading organisation in the International Confederation of Free Trade Unions. The AFL-CIO now has 9 million members.
