ETUC: Turkish government must end repression

Replying to a letter from Faruk Celik, Turkish Minister of Labour and Social Security, seeking to excuse recent events, Bernadette Ségol, General Secretary of the European Trade Union Confederation (ETUC) reiterated her deep concerns at the totally disproportionate use of force by the police during the events in Istanbul in early June. She also voiced her concerns over the continuing violation of human rights and attacks on trade unions and professional associations in Turkey.
