The international campaign for a Robin Hood Tax/Financial Transactions Tax is launching a Global Week of Action from 16-23 May 2012, spanning the G8 in Camp David, an informal EU summit in Brussels and the European Parliamentary vote on the European Commission's Draft Directive.

The first action we want people to take, though, is to Tweet Chicago, where thousands will be marching on Friday 18 May ahead of the NATO summit that weekend, led by National Nurses United.

Tweet Chicago runs from today until 16 May, and we're asking supporters to tweet why they support a Robin Hood Tax, and/or send a message to G8 Leaders.

The best messages will be chosen and displayed on banners during the major campaign rally in Chicago, which will be headlined by The Nightwatchman, Tom Morello (former Rage Against the Machine frontman).

When advertising this to followers, please use @robinhood and #RobinHoodTax because for those people whose tweets we choose, we will use the #RobinHoodTax hashtag and @robinhood to search and pick the best.

We'll also contact them directly to let them see their tweets being displayed at the march.
