End the violence in Syria and allow humanitarian access

Issue date

Syria

With the crisis in Syria deepening by the hour the TUC is supporting an Oxfam urgent action appeal calling on the UN Security Council to press for humanitarian access and stop the flow of arms.

Please support the call by Ban Ki-moon, United Nations Secretary-General, for the world to speak with one voice on this issue. Add your name to the list of those calling for an end to violence and full access to humanitarian relief for vulnerable people.

Humanitarian agencies are already present in countries bordering Syria and are prepared to deal with the emerging humanitarian crisis. The impact of violence on civilians is a clear example of the need for an international Arms Trade Treaty that would stop arms transfers that fuel violations of international human rights and humanitarian law.

The killing must end immediately, humanitarian relief must be allowed in and no more arms or ammunition must be supplied that could further fuel human rights abuses.

Add your name to this call for solidarity and action.
