Guidance Note on TUC Model Agreement for Academies

The affiliated school workforce unions - ATL, GMB, NASUWT, NUT, UNISON and Unite - and the non-affiliated school leaders' union - NAHT - have issued a joint statement setting out a number of key issues of principle regarding trade union recognition and pay and conditions for employees in Academy schools. The two-page guidance note (PDF) draws on the detailed TUC Model Agreement for Academies in England (PDF). The Model Agreement was originally developed by the TUC and affiliated school workforce unions in 2008 and a revised version was issued in 2010 . The affiliated unions and NAHT will be working in partnership on strategies to disseminate the new guidance note widely among their membership.
