One way to raise awareness and political pressure about the impact of pay localisation is for councillors to debate and vote on a council motion.
The Pay Fair campaign has designed a model motion that can be update with all the key local facts and figures for your area. You can contact a councillor and them to table it in advance and debate it at the next full council meeting. There is potential for positive media coverage about the campaign and the TUC can help provide supportive quotes and assistance.
In advance you might want to note that the following political parties have publicly declared their opposition to regional or localised public sector pay:
The Labour Party, the Scottish Nationalist Party, Plaid Cymru, the Democratic Unionist Party, the Social Democratic and Labour Party, Respect, the Welsh Conservative Assembly Members, the Welsh Liberal Democrat Assembly Members and a number of individual Liberal Democrat MPs.
