TUC on new standards in social housing

Commenting on Government plans to establish the Tenant Services Authority to ensure improved standards for the UK's eight million tenants in social housing, TUC General Secretary Brendan Barber said:

'This is good news for millions of working people across the UK who live in housing provided by local authorities and housing associations.

'But improving the service delivered to tenants will depend to a large extent on the quality of the workforce and their management. Public sector housing employees will be central to delivering the new standards on the ground and will need to be properly engaged and properly valued.'
