Commenting on the government's offshore wind industrial strategy published today (Thursday), TUC General Secretary Frances O'Grady said: 'Our natural wind resources and shallow seas mean Britain could become a world leader in this field.

'The smart way to make the most of the economic benefits of skilled, well-paid jobs is to set out a 20-year vision for how this fledgling industry can develop.

'This strategy could help bring the big prize of turbine manufacturing to the UK's shores. Unions very much look forward to working with government and business to try to secure these benefits for the country.'
