Commenting on the vote today (Friday) on Clive Efford’s NHS Bill, TUC General Secretary Frances O’Grady said: “MPs have voted overwhelmingly in support of this Bill that, if successful, could reverse the government’s plans to privatise the NHS.

Commenting on the vote today (Friday) on Clive Efford’s NHS Bill, TUC General Secretary Frances O’Grady said: “MPs have voted overwhelmingly in support of this Bill that, if successful, could reverse the government’s plans to privatise the NHS. 

“This is a welcome first step and the government should recognise this defeat and give the Bill time to progress further.

“There is huge pride and public support for an NHS which is free at the point of delivery, available to all of those who need it, and run in the interests of patients, not profit.”
