Partnership Working to reduce the impact of Stress at Work in the Northern Region

Trade Union Safety Reps and HSE working together to reduce stress

Reducing workplace stress and minimising its impact is one of the key issues in the new Health and Safety Strategy in the Northern Region. Working initially with 25 organisations in Local Government, the Health Service and Further and Higher Education the HSE is promoting and consulting on its stress management tool.

HSE fully recognise that the effective engagement and involvement of trade union representatives is a key characteristic in making stress management successful.

Working jointly with the TUC the HSE held a lively and productive seminar with around 60 trade union safety reps from the 25 organisations involved in this programme. Attached are links to the presentations made on the day, the HSE stress management tool and a list of organisations to be audited in the coming year.

The following information will be of interest to all trade union safety reps.
