* * * It's TOMORROW!!! * * *

1: Final prepping
2: Get down on your way down!
3: Worthy spreaders of the word
4: What next?

1) Final prepping

Final bits of info for you on the eve of the action. The full run down of the day is all in the operational note, which you can find at:
http://www.tuc.org.uk/fp4f/what.htm

If you have organised a coach and have to make sure you don't abandon anyone in the Smog, or are helping out as a steward, print-off and digest our handy briefing:
http://www.tuc.org.uk/fp4f/coachbriefing.htm

Seems like it might be a bit chilly tomorrow so wrap up warm!

2) Get down on your way down!

One of you had the great idea of coaches generating great media coverage as they pass through the country, by calling local and national radio shows and asking for fire related requests - "We're all on the way to the fair pay for the fire service rally, and we've been up since 6am - We'd love to hear Will Young's Light My Fire".

Obviously tastefulness is a factor and picking tunes suited to the station you call - not sure that Heart FM would play Prodigy's 'Firestarter', but they might well go for Atomic Kitten's 'Eternal Flame'.

Good luck, we'll be listening out for you!

3) Worthy spreaders of the word

Even more in our e-postbag today! Thanks to everyone for all your work, and sorry we can only list a fraction of what we've been sent. We've found it hard to judge again, so we scrounged a couple more hats, so that we can give these last 3 to three very deserving activists:

Gary Whiting: "As a member of the public and non-militant, non-union member I have: Followed the campaign since June; been active on 30kfirepay.co.uk; Displayed Y stickers on my car and camera box; Bombarded workmates with up to date info; Linked to fp4f.com; Taken food & coffee to my local station; Stood on pickets and enjoyed chatting; Copied and distributed flyers; AIR-HORNED every station I've passed EVERY time; Debated with non supporters and converted them with the facts; Held a photo call with our MSP at Pollok Station; ENJOYED FIGHTING FOR A MOST WORTHY CAUSE. And do you know... I'm exhausted but still very determined to see that Tony Blair & his government don't put one over on our greatest public servants with their tight-fisted spin."

Norma Anderson: "I have big yellow Y stickers in every window of my house and on my car. I wear a Y T-shirt every time I go out, and I speak to everyone who will listen about the firefighters. I've had 2 letters of support printed in my local paper, and one in the Herald. Firefighters have never let me down - when they ask for support, I have to give it!"

and John Hayes: "I have now emailed everyone in my address book with details of the march. I've displayed the poster in my school staffroom and spoken to colleagues. I organised for our Hertfordshire NUT banner to be brought down to the march. I've oiled the wheels of my 2 year old daughter's buggy so that it makes it all the way round, and wonder whether she will be the youngest on the demo? Message of support from my 7 year old son Thomas: 'I am going for a long walk in London because I want the firefighters to have more money in the bank!'"

4) What next?

Over the weekend we'll be posting up any news from the day, photos, comments and the like. The campaign for fair pay in the Fire Service has not reached its goal yet - and we'll be in touch next week to let you know how it will develop.

Thanks for all your work, for logging on to fp4f.com, and for sending all your messages of support, you've been excellent - See you all tomorrow!
