FBU suspend Wednesday strike

The FBU have announced the suspension of the eight-day strike planned to go ahead on Wednesday but have decided that the rally and march will go ahead as planned on Saturday.

Commenting on the FBU’s suspension of strike action today (Monday) John Monks, TUC General Secretary, said:

“This is the right move by the FBU, and shows sound strategic sense by its executive. It puts the pressure on the employers and government to come up with an offer that can start real negotiations. The suspension of the strike, and the involvement of ACAS, will help provide the right atmosphere to get talks going again.”
