embargo: Immediate release
Commenting on the Parliamentary Ombudsman pension report published today (Wednesday) TUC General Secretary Brendan Barber said:
' The rejection of this Ombudsman's report will come as a bitter blow to the thousands of workers who have lost their pensions savings. The government are wrong to dismiss it out of hand. At the very least ministers must now increase funding to the Financial Assistance Scheme, and ensure that it starts paying out to the innocent victims of these pension scheme failures."
