NUJ annouce plans for TUC Young Workers Month

For TUC Young Workers Month, NUJ have announced the following plans:

  • changed its rules so that members aged 30 and under qualify as young members and is offering a discounted membership rate for young members who join in November
  • taking part in the Federations of Entertainment Unions event 'Get the best deal: how to pitch for work and get paid properly':  a free workshop for members of the Federations of Entertainment Unions, held on  Thursday 27 November in London,  It is aimed at younger members (aged 30 and under) and includes basics of pitching your work and negotiating fair rates of pay.   • setting up a dedicated Young Members page on the NUJ website and asking for young members to contribute blogs or add information of events they are holding.
  • launching a  NUJ Young Workers' networking group
  • actively encouraging young members to join the networking group, in order to get young workers issues high on the union's agenda.
